He is been currently assigned to work in the Department of National ID and Civil Registration. Before this he had beard the responsibility for Department of Information, Communication and Technology. He has been working in the field of IT since a long time. He has closely analyzed and managed several software localization projects. He has also led and worked in several Natural Language Processing Projects as a Researcher, for instance, in Machine Translation, Opinion Mining, Text-to-Speech, Automatic Speech Recognition, with a special focus towards Nepali. He is familiar with the life cycle of Software Localization and Natural Language Processing Projects, to interact and deal with people of multi-national origins from different spheres of expertise (software developers, linguists, engineers, language specialists, language owners.
He is the knowledge management specialist and also the co-founder at Nepal Entrepreneurs hub. He is also the inter disciplinary consulting researcher with over 18 years of experience in South Asia, Central Asia, Europe and America. He has specialty in IT strategy, knowledge management, and intellectual property. He is a frequent speaker and moderator at high-level business, technical and policy consultations and interactions in Nepal.
He is executive Director and president at Kings College. He had also worked as general manager- at CG education system. He wants to contribute in welfare of Nepal through entrepreneurship.

Pokharel is the founder of For My Nation a charity organization established to build permanent shelter to earthquake (Gorkha) victims.
He mentors aspiring young entrepreneurs through Yuwa Uddhyami Ghar . The organization provides a platform to pitch their ideas and arranges the meeting with potential investors. With his investing knowledge and operating experience, Pokharel is also working as a venture capitalist. Pokharel is the recipient of Asia Honesty Awards for his achievement for an important role in encouraging SMEs across the world. Additionally, he was honored with Mars Award for his contribution in promoting women entrepreneurship in 2015.
He is the head of banking sector in the Sanima Bank. He is responsible for overall administrative, operational, ICT of the Bank’s payment system like, Card Products (Debit/Credit), Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Branchless Banking, Automated Teller Machine (ATM) products & services and other related systems. Beside, Head e-Banking, he has also been appointed as Information Security Officer (ISO). He is also the former president of the Internet Society and has experience in banking career as well as entrepreneurship. Shrestha, who also represents ICANN, has got the experience as a jury member in international awards. Shrestha has been a jury member of the ICT Awards since 2017.
Ganga Subba, who studied computer engineering from Pulchowk Engineering, is working as the IT coordinator of Sagarmatha Engineering and IT College. Ganga Subba’s contribution to IT education has been significant. She has been playing an important role in the ICT Awards since 2019 as a jury member. She works as a tremendous program coordinator.
